How To Look After Your Merry'sUpdated 12 hours ago

How long your Merry's last depends on how you wear and care for them. Like all quality footwear, they require regular care, similar to leather boots, to keep them looking great and performing well for years to come.


Boots and Clogs

To keep your boots looking great and lasting longer:

  • Store them indoors in a dry place, away from direct sunlight—prolonged sun exposure can dry out the rubber and fade the colour.

  • Use a silicone-based rubber treatment (like our Merry People Care Kit) to moisturise the rubber, prevent cracking, and keep your boots in top shape.

  • Clean them regularly after muddy adventures—hose off excess dirt and let them air dry. Dirt left on the boots can lead to drying or fading over time.

  • For tougher marks, use a mild detergent (like dishwashing liquid) and gently scrub with a cloth or sponge. Melamine sponges (Magic Erasers) are great for stubborn stains on both the rubber and neoprene.

Can I put them in the washing machine?
We don’t recommend putting your Merrys in the washing machine, for the sake of both your shoes and the machine! Since they’re 100% waterproof, any water trapped inside won't easily dry out and can cause mould, so avoid fully submerging them.


Lochie Sandals

Just like our boots, your Lochie Sandals need a little TLC to stay in great shape. Here’s how to care for them:

  • Rinse off any dirt, sand, or saltwater with a hose.

  • Gently squeeze out any water from the neoprene lining.

  • Apply silicone to the rubber straps and midsole to keep them protected (avoid applying it to the sole).

  • Once completely dry, store your sandals in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
